About the Author

Jack Coulter spent about ten years as an operations analyst, which mostly meant living inside spreadsheets that were too big to trust. He taught himself Python to automate one slow monthly report, got it working after a weekend of confusion, and then kept finding more things to automate.

He learned in fits and starts, stalling on the same tutorials most people stall on, and kept a list of everything that tripped him up. That list is roughly how these books are built now: one idea at a time, every example there to be run and broken.

Jack writes The Python Crown for King Coding and still answers his own reader email. That address, and the rest of the series, are at king-coding.com. The first script he wrote is still on his desktop. It is not good, and it stays there on purpose.
